Stutzman: Fear Of High Dollar Milk Is Really A Scare Tactic

UNITED STATES (21Alive) -- Congress is expected to take up the Farm Bill this week. There had been speculation that if a bill is not passed that we could see a gallon of milk go for up to $6 a gallon.

3rd District Indiana Congressman Marlin Stutzman says it is a scare tactic being used and is confident that the price hike for milk will not happen.

"The private sector knows, that things come and go and changes do happen, but if they happen modestly, with thought we can all adjust to them," Stutzman said. "This fear of high dollar milk is really a scare tactic. We'll get something done, it is just a matter of getting it done at the right time."

Early this year, Congress separated the Food Stamp portion of the bill, which had been wrapped into a broader farm bill in the past.
