INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Indiana State Fair Commission announced Thursday morning it will pay the fines levied against it in this past summer's stage collapse.
The Indiana Department of Occupational, Safety and Health Administration fined the Fair Commission $6,000 after its investigation into the death of two stagehands in the disaster.
I-OSHA found that "Mid America Sound Corp." ignored safety standards when it built the stage that collapsed during a storm last August, killing 7 people and injuring dozens more.
That company was fined $63,000.
An $11,000 fine was also issued against a stagehands union.
