AUBURN, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- The Spencerville covered bridge, that was heavily damaged when an Illinois truck driver drove his rig across it, could reopen next Tuesday.

The Highway Department is expected to conduct the final inspection of the bridge next Tuesday morning with the structure reopening to traffic shortly after that.

Truck driver, Gerard Hudson, 46, of Waukegan, Ill., pleaded guilty in DeKalb County court to felony criminal mischief causing damage in excess of $2,500.

Hudson admitted to driving his rig across the 140-year-old bridge in September, causing in excess of $103,000 in damage.
