INDIANA (www.incnow.tv) -- A plan to overhaul the state's specialty license plate system passed in the House.

If enacted, the plan would create an eight-member panel that would review requests from organizations that want to use license plates to raise money. Currently the BMV offers 103 specialty plates. The new plan would allow the panel to endorse five new plates each year with a 150-plate cap for the number of plates the BMV is able to offer.

Under this new law, the BMV would have the ability to revoke the plate of any organization that breaks state or federal law.
