SALT LAKE CITY (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Kidnap victim Elizabeth Smart has gone into detail about the night she was abducted from her Utah home in 2002.

The 23-year-old testified Monday during the first day of the federal trial of her alleged kidnapper Brian David Mitchell.

Smart described how Mitchell came into her bedroom, put a knife to her neck, threatened her, then forced her to hike to a mountain campsite.

She also described how he forced her into a mock marriage ceremony and raped her.

Smart was found 9-months later.

Mitchell faces life in prison if convicted.
