TOLEDO, Ohio (Indiana's NewsCenter) - In a wheelchair, the 39-year-old father of three missing Michigan boys, John Skelton, was in a Toledo courtroom fighting extradition from Ohio.

He's charged with parental kidnapping in connection with the disappearance of his three sons from Morenci, Michigan, located in the southeast quadrant of the state.

At a briefing Wednesday morning Morenci's police chief says he doesn't want to give-up hope in locating the boys.

Morenci Police Chief Larry Weeks says, “I refuse to believe that at this point. It is my desire to maintain hope. As I said yesterday, the information we have does not indicate that this will have a positive outcome."

Skelton will be back in court December 14th.
