FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- Fort Wayne police make an arrest in a shooting on the city's south side, Friday evening.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Broadway and Taylor Street in reference to a shooting at 4:49 p.m. Friday night. When police arrived on the scene, they learned the adult victim had been transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle. The victim was reported to be in critical condition at a local hospital. After medical treatment, the victim was later updated to serious, but stable condition.
Witnesses reported that they saw two adult males in the parking lot on the southeast corner of Broadway and Taylor, in a heated discussion. According to witnesses, they heard one gunshot and saw two vehicles leave the scene.
During the course of the investigation, officers obtained the name of a suspect, Tazz Dustin Langston, 28, of Fort Wayne. A uniform patrol officer located Langston near the area of Fairfield and West Berry. Langston then fled on foot and initially eluded police. Experienced patrol officers, with knowledge of the area, located Langston at a local hang out on Herman Street. He was taken into custody and transported to the police station.
Langston is being charged with possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer.
