FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Two men in their 20s were victims of a shooting early this morning near IPFW that prompted the university to send out a warning to students and employees.
Fort Wayne Police Public Information Officer Roy Sutphin said the shooting took place Sunday morning around 5 a.m. An altercation started at some type of entertainment club on West Coliseum which led to guys chasing each other in vehicles. At one point one vehicle started firing shots at the other vehicle shooting two men in their 20s. The victims stopped their vehicle at the intersection of Stellhorn Road and St. Joe Road after being wounded.
Neither one of the victims are in critical condition.
With the shooting so close to IPFW dorms, by law the university has to alert their students and employees.
The alert said, "The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting near IPFW. If you see anything suspicious, call the Fort Wayne or IPFW Police Department. This notification is required by the U.S. Department of Education."
