FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- Recycling is paying off in Fort Wayne.

Because more residents are recycling they'll see a $1.05 decrease in monthly bills. Single family homes will pay $9.95 a month. Multi-family homes 1990. City council approved the ordinance, Tuesday night. It kicks in September first.

City councilman Tom Didier (R) says, ”The more Fort Wayne recycles, the lower the fee is going to eventually be, because this is how this all came about. They excess recycling money we got back from the last seven months. So, its a win-win for the city of Fort Wayne, the more we recycle the more revenue we are going to create for ourselves.”
