WASHINGTON DC (Indiana's NewsCenter) - During a special session on Thursday the Senate passed a bill aimed at stopping the flow of illegal immigrants into the U.S.

The $600 million will put more agents and equipment along the U.S. Mexican border.

The bill would fund hiring 1,000 new Border Patrol agents, 250 more ICE agents and 250 more Customs and Border Protection officers.

It will also pay for new communications equipment and great use of unmanned surveillance drones.

Thursday's voice vote sends the legislation to President Obama.
