STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – Approximately 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, Steuben County Deputies responded to a semi rollover crash on I-69 at mile marker 147.

The semi, which was hauling 44,000 pounds of paper had rolled over on the west side of the highway. The driver, Charles Moore from Alamo Tennessee said he took a drink and then began coughing uncontrollably causing him to lose control of the semi and go off the road. The semi struck two electrical poles causing small fires along the fence row. The driver suffered minor injuries.

One lane of I-69 southbound remained open through the event, the other didn’t reopen until around 9 p.m.

Moore was later arrested for possessing a firearm without a permit.
