FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – Education Reform. It's being called a civil rights and social justice issue.
The Notre Dame club of Fort Wayne hosted a school choice debate at the Allen County public library Tuesday evening.
“We wanna make it possible for kids who don't have that option, to take advantage of it,” says Notre Dame professor Richard Garnett. “If there's an opportunity that would help those kids, learn more let's try to make it financially feasible for them to do so. You can do that with a tax credit, you can do that with a voucher. You can do that with a charter school. The big picture idea is increasing the options that low-income kids have for education.”
Other topics at discussed at the panel, are school vouchers constitutional, and is education reform worth the cost.
