JACKSON, Miss. (21Alive) -- You may have heard the story of a 3-year-old being asked to leave a KFC in Mississippi earlier this month, it is now believed to have all been a hoax.
The Laurel Leader-Call reports that the accusations from the girls family aren't adding up.
The initial allegation came from the Facebook page "Victoria's Victories," which followed the recover of 3-year-old Victoria Wilcher's recovery from a pit bull attack. The family of the girl accused KFC staff of kicking the little girl out of the restaurant because her scarring was frightening customers.
However, investigators have reviewed video surveillance of the restaurant and have yet to find any evidence that the girl or her family was at the restaurant when they claim they were. Store records also indicate that the items the family says they ordered were never ordered on the day they claim the incident happened.
Supporters of the family are claiming the Laurel Leader-Call story is untrue and that the family wouldn't lie about this. However, evidence is adding up against their allegations.
