Fort Wayne, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Santa and his elves are taking a break from the North Pole to drop by Smith Field in Fort Wayne, but he won't be arriving by sleigh.

Santa Claus arrived in Fort Wayne by helicopter, not because it's Christmas time and the sleigh is still being prepped for the big night but to rally everyone together for the Toys for Tots program.

Those wanting to meet Santa should bring an unwrapped brand new toy to the air field Thursday evening by 7 p.m.

This year Toys for Tots is hoping to collect gifts for over 1,500 families in the Fort Wayne area.

They'll be accepting shiny new toys through December 13th.
