FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - A robber held up the Valero gas station on Engle Rd. and Ardmore Ave. early Sunday morning, but he didn't get away with any money.

Officer Mark Brooks, with the Fort Wayne Police Department, says a man entered the store and asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes. The clerk turned around to grab them, and when he turned back around the man was holding a gun. He demanded cash but the clerk took off running. The robber then grabbed his cigarettes and ran out of the store, too.

The robber is described as a black male, wearing a gray sweatshirt and a silver baseball hat. He has a mustache and a thin beard.

If you know anything about this incident you are asked to call the Fort Wayne police Department.
