FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - A pharmaceutical company, Purdue Pharma L.P., is keen on catching prescription drug thieves in Fort Wayne, and is offering up reward money for tips on a pair of 2011 robberies.
Surveillance photos are available in one of the Walgreens Store holdups.
It’s not the same crook in the two crimes, but it’s possible that they were somehow connected, as the method of operation was very similar.
A security camera caught images of a white female, approximately 5’4 to 5’6 and weighing between 120 and 140 pounds, entering the Walgreens at 11932 Lima Road on December 29th, moments before police say the woman came to the pharmacy counter and passed a note demanding controlled substances.
The suspect walked out with an undetermined amount of prescription medicine.
On November 29th, at the Walgreens on Dupont near Tonkel Road, a thinly built white male in his early twenties came to the pharmacy counter and handed over a note demanding drugs.
He fled with prescription meds as well.
If you provide information leading to an arrest in either case, you can claim $2,500 in reward money.
Officer Jeremy Tinkel/Allen County Police Department: " We turn to the community for all sorts of help with different crimes that we're having trouble with, or come to a stopping point. A lot of times there's people out there that have a little bit of information that they may not think it's a big deal, but when it comes in to us, and we put it together with all the other things that we have, it may turn out to solve the case."
No surveillance photos were available from the November holdup.
But a witness provided distinctive details about what the suspect was wearing.
The man was said to be sporting a gray hoodie with the words, "Black Sabbath Ironman" on it and he had a white hat on, with "McAllister" on it.
If you have information about either holdup, you can call a crime stopper hotline, at 888-479-8477.
