FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- It's an organization that is all heart. It was just Thursday that local charity, Ray of Hope Medical Missions, returned home a child from Africa that received life changing surgery in Fort Wayne.
As they sen one child back, volunteers were at Fort Wayne International Airport to greet another young patient that will undergo cleft palate surgery. The organization sets up donated medical care for children around the world where they receive treatment they can not receive in their home country.
"The most amazing part about these countries is that what we see as benign conditions, actually can be seen a life threatening there, and in some cases executable", President of Ray of Hope, Rebecca Ghent, said. "That they will some villages, that believe in their religion belief these children are born with a curse. And they will execute them."
Ray of Hope Medical Missions works strictly on donations. If you would like to help out, click here.
