Max Resnik looked into how can you prepare tonight, for a day that could hit triple digit degree temps Thursday.
Heat stroke can be deadly in fact, according to the Centers for DIsease Control, more than 8,000 people died as the result of a heat related illness between 1979 and 2003.
The elderly, infants and people with chronic medical conditions are at the greatest risk.
Symptoms of heat stroke can include things like cramping, rapid pulse, a throbbing headache and nausea.
