Power Cut to Parts of Waynedale

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) --- As a precaution, power is being cut to areas of Waynedale where flooding is occurring.

Here's the press release info from I&M:

Updated 3:25 P.M.:

"There is NO mandatory evacuation in progress in Waynedale.

I&M has confirmed with the Fort Wayne Fire Dept. that a total of 10 customers have had power interrupted as a safety precaution associated with flooding near the intersection of Fernwood and Daleview.

I&M continues to work under the direction of the City of Fort Wayne to ensure optimal public safety in the face of these conditions."

"Indiana Michigan Power is working under the direction of the Fort Wayne Fire Department to shut power off to sections of Waynedale that have experienced recent flooding.

I&M has been advised that mandatory evacuations are underway at the direction of the Fire Department.

At this time, we are working to get details on the extent and scope of the flooding and the power outages that are necessary to keep the public safe."
