Update: Kidnapping Suspect Arrested (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Fort Wayne police have arrested a suspect in connection with a reported kidnapping which led to a police standoff early Friday morning.

Officers were called to the corner of New Haven and Coliseum after a passing motorist reportedly witnessed a female climbing out of a moving vehicle.

Investigators say the female had been held against her will and beaten inside a home on the 3200 block of Rodgers Avenue. She was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Police then attempted to contact the suspect, Gregory Brownlow, 51 of Fort Wayne. He barricaded himself inside his home.

Fort Wayne SWAT officers were brought in as the standoff continued. Police were able to arrest Brownlow just after 2:00 a.m. Friday.

He's been preliminarily charged with criminal confinement and battery.
