FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 600 block of W. State Boulevard on a report of an armed disturbance late Saturday night.
Preliminary information indicated the armed suspect, an adult male, was making threats to harm others while armed with a knife.
Officials say that when officers arrived, the male was inside a home with several other people. Officers tried calling the occupants out of the home using a loud speaker, but the occupants did not exit.
Due to the possiblity of hostages, the Emergency Services Team (EST) and Crisis Response Team (CRT) were called to assist in the investigation. Officials were finally able to get the occupants out of the home.
Police determined that everyone inside the home were not harmed.
The subject making the threats was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. No names or further information have been released.
