FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers to watch out for online cyber-scams pertaining to Osama bin Laden’s death.

One of the more notable cyber-scams is on Facebook. The scam says it is video showing the death of bin Laden. After clicking on the link, it will infect the computer with a virus.

Consumers should be suspicious of any links related to Osama related sites that they find on any web page.

The BBB has helpful tips when surfing on the internet:

--In the case of bin Laden, no photos or videos have been released related to his death. Stay away from information that’s not widely available from respected news sources.

--Be cautious of anything being offered for free especially when it comes from a website you are unfamiliar with or haven’t heard of before.

--If you aren’t sure if an offer or a web site is legitimate, contact the BBB at 260-423-4433.
