FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Salvation Army urgently needs fans and air conditioners during this hot weather.
"Operation Cool Breeze" helps low-income people with critical medical conditions keep cool during the hot weather.
The Salvation Army helped more than 100-families last year, and still had to turn some away.
And this year, there's even more of a need for donated fans and air conditioners.
Tim Smith with the Salvation Army says, “We focus on individuals that have physical conditions that are aggravated by the heat. You know you kind of take advantage of the muggy weather, but some people have a hard time breathing and that's who we want to help out.”
All fans and air conditioners can be dropped off at the Salvation Army in the 2900 block of Clinton Street.
