Crash Victim ID'd: Crash At Hayden And McCulloch (VIDEO & PHOTOS)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – A man is dead after an accident on Hayden and McCulloch Streets.

Police say Henry Meyers, 54, was driving an SUV heading westbound on Hayden St. when he attempted to pass a box truck heading the same direction.

As the driver of the SUV attempted to pass the box truck, he side swiped it and ran into a tree. Police are unsure what caused the driver to go into the tree.

Police found the man unconscious and unresponsive when they arrived at the scene. The man was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the box truck and its passenger we not harmed.

The Allen County Coroner determined that the cause of death was blunt force trauma.

It is unknown if speed or alcohol played a factor in the accident. The Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (FACT) as well as the Fort Wayne Police Department are continuing to investigate the accident.
