Officers & Their Partners Graduate K-9 Academy

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- Seven Allen County officers and their partners graduated from the K-9 Academy Friday.

The class recently underwent 14-weeks of intense training and all graduating officers and their partners are certified in the areas of obedience control, evidence search, area search, building search, tracking and detection of illegal substances such as marijuana, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and ecstasy.

Allen County Sheriff's Department Master K-9 Trainer, Robert L. Compton, Captain Shawn Lawhorn, Sheriff Kennith C. Fries and Chief David Gladieux presented the certificates at the graduation ceremony in the Allen County Courthouse Rotunda.
