Off-Duty Marion County Deputy Killed In Motorcycle Crash (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind (21Alive) -- A Marion County Sheriff's Deputy was killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash last night, reportedly due to a pothole.

Emergency crews responded to a call just before 8:00 p.m. along Action Road near the Marion-Johnson County line. When they arrived they found 35-year-old officer Eric Stofer on the ground and unresponsive.

According to investigators, it appears Stofer was thrown from his bike after he hit a pothole.
