FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- If you or someone you know is looking for work, there will be two job fairs in Fort Wayne Thursday.
Medtech College is sponsoring a health field career fair that's open to the public and features 35 employers that need to fill positions.
The jobs run the gamut of entry level positions, but those range from receptionists to unit assistants to medical lab technicians to registered nurses and more.
Many of those entry level jobs require only a high school diploma.
And the opportunities are abundant.
"There have been enormous expansions within the health care community here in Fort Wayne. We hope to fill some of those positions, whether they be with our graduates, our students or the community here in Fort Wayne. There's absolutely a growth opportunity in this area," says Chris Palevich, career services director for Medtech College.
You can walk in and apply for the health care jobs at the Landmark Convention Center on Ellison Road between ten and two Thursday.
And from noon to six, you can apply for about 120 seasonal, part-time positions that are open within the Memorial Coliseum.
Jobs will be open for parking attendants, ushers, janitorial staff and all kinds of food vendors, servers and cooks.
You should park on the Parnell side of the Coliseum and go to Expo Hall number one.
Last year, nearly a thousand people applied for those jobs, so there are some things you can do to help your chances.
"Our positions are event-driven, which means we can't guarantee a set number of hours per week or set number of days per week. They must be available on nights, weekends and holidays, because we are open and most of the time have events going during those times," says Garnett Miller of the Memorial Coliseum.
Job hunters must be well-groomed, be able to fill out an application and most of all, be dependable.
If you're attending the Medtech health field career fair, you should bring about 50 copies of your resume.
