FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) – It was a day of giving as NBC33’s Eric DeFreeuw and two store managers from JB Robinson Jewelers at Glenbrook Square handed out stuffed animals at Lutheran Children’s Hospital on Monday. The stuffed bears and dogs were raised through JB Robinson’s partnership with St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

DeFreeuw, along with store managers Tony Hillis and Adam Drew, walked throughout the designated areas of the pediatrics department sharing the stuffed animals with kids who were being treated for both short and long-term care.

The goal of Monday’s donation was to bring a gift to kids who may be scared or suffering this holiday season.

"It's rough,” says Liz Bachy, whose 3 year-old daughter Alexa is at Lutheran Hospital. “It definitely makes the holidays seem a little tougher instead of fun. But it's nice because a lot of people come and visit and give her fun things and help make it, you know, a little bit more enjoyable."

In all, over 120 bears and dogs were donated. They will continue to be distributed at the hospital throughout the holiday season.
