FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21 Alive) -- For area schools there's been a lot of questioning as to how all of these snow days will be made up.

Southern wells community schools has already seen 14 snow days for this school year.

Superintendent Jim Craig talked about the possibilities the school board has come up with for makeup days.

One of the options may be to have students go to school on Saturdays.

As of now the date for school to be out is June 6th. The original date for graduation is set for June 1st, but Craig says they are more than likely going to move the date, that way students do not have to return to school after graduation.

Craig also said state superintendent Glenda Ritz has suggested adding on an hour to the end of each school day.

Adding one hour for six consecutive days will constitute as one make up day.

Another suggestion is for students to attend school on Good Friday, but Craig says they are just trying to come up with the best options at this point, because more snow days are anticipated.

“Well obviously it's been a tough time for everybody. It's difficult for the teachers, the staff, the kids, certainly tough on the parents, the bus drivers, everybody, and all the schools are in the same boat. I think everybody is going through the same thing we are trying to determine what to do, and hopefully the suns going to come out and it's going to get fifty degrees and we're going to forget all this stuff,” Craig said.

A board meeting on Feb. 18th will determine these decisions.
