Man Shot Three Days After Being Released From Prison (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- Officers were dispatched to Plaza Dr. and Drexel Ave. in reference to a shooting a little before 7 p.m. Thursday night.

Police arrived on the scene and found a black male was being attended to by the Fort Wayne Fire Department. The victim, Sidney Gates, 26, appeared to have been shot at least once in the back. He told police he had been released from prison three days ago after serving an eight year sentence.

Gates was found lying next to a 1999 Plymouth 4-Door and several shell casings were found in the area. He is reported to be in serious condition.
