ELKHART, Ind. (21Alive) -- A man was shot and killed by police officers in Elkhart County after a traffic stop resulted in a 40-minute pursuit.
According to State Police, Elkhart police attempted to stop a pickup truck for a traffic violation shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday. The truck has also been reported stolen and investigators say the driver refused to pull over.
The driver led police on a chase that lasted more than 40 minutes and went through parts of Michigan. The driver returned to Elkhart, where officers shot and killed him.
The victim's identity and the identities of those officers involved have not been released. The incident remains under investigation.
