FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Police are investigating a homicide that happened late Saturday night near the intersection at West Packard and South Wayne Street.
Officials say upon arrival, they found a man suffering with multiple gunshot wounds. After talking to witnesses, police say the reports indicate the man was on the front porch of his residence. He was then approached by two other suspects.
According to officials, the two men tried to rob the resident. The resident was armed with a handgun and fired several rounds at one of the robbery subjects.
The first subject, Jaquese Dandridge, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the second subject was located late Sunday evening and arrested without incident. He is being held on charges of attempted armed robbery ad battery. Police say he is 16 years old.
The resident was treated at a local hospital due to a gunshot wound to the foot during the engagement. He immediately called the police to report the incident
