Man Injured in Hunting Accident

CROMWELL, IN (www.incnow.tv)--A North Webster man is injured after preparing for the upcoming deer rifle season.

According to Indiana Conservation Officers, 70-year old Stephen White was sighting his 12 gauge shotgun in a field located near 1910 South State Road 5.

Authorities say he fired the first shot at the target, when he went to shoot a second, the shotgun barrel exploded instantly in his hand that was holding the barrel, causing injury to his finger.

He drove himself to the hospital where he was treated and released.
