Police responded to the parking lot of Ray's Truck Wash in the 3400 block of W. Coliseum Blvd. just before midnight and found 57-year-old Richard Hamilton who was unconscious and unresponsive. Three Rivers Ambulance Authority medics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

It is also unknown if the accident was intentional, if the pedestrian made any attempts to avoid being struck, or if any alcohol played a role. It is also currently undetermined how long the deceased had been lying there before being discovered.
The Allen County Coroner determined that the cause of death was blunt force trauma. This is the 13th traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2013.
