SHERWOOD, Ohio (www.incnow.tv) -- The Defiance State Highway Patrol Post is investigating a traffic crash that occurred on SR 18 within the intersection of US 127 in the village of Sherwood in Defiance County.

The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. Monday morning. One victim was critically injured. Joe Plummer, the driver of a 2001 Dodge Ram truck, was flown from the scene by air ambulance and taken to a Fort Wayne hospital.

Plummer was driving eastbound on SR 18 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of SR 18 and US 127. He was struck on the driver's side by a Ford F350 driven by Fred Kreiner, 47 who was traveling south on US 127. The impact pushed Plummer's vehicle into a semi-truck and trailer travelling north on US 127, driven by David Phares, 56.

The semi went off the road and struck a utility pole while the other vehicles came to rest on the roadway. Police say Plummer was not wearing a seatbelt.
