MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (21Alive) -- A man and woman were arrested following a raid on a home in Mendon, Ohio.
Detectives received a tip that a wanted person was staying at the home. When detectives attempted to make contact at the home, no one would come to the door. The home owner allowed detectives to check his residence for the wanted person.
Jessica Landon, 25, was arrested on a bench warrant for bond revocation due to testing positive for heroin on two occasions while out of jail on bond. Zachary Lentz, 20, who was on parole, was also arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments. Heroin was found in his pants pocket when he was taken in. Both had presumptive positive tests for opiates and marijuana.
Detectives are reviewing the possibility of filing charges on the home owner.
“Heroin is a serious problem in this county,” stated Sheriff Grey, “we are going to continue the battle, continue to drug test on occasions the law allows, and are pursuing criminal charges against people who harbor the individuals or provide them money for heroin. It is time the criminal justice system holds these people accountable.”
