WARSAW, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The images from the awful collapse are not easy to forget, and that goes for top officials in Indiana state government as well.

Lt. Governor Becky Skillman says the firms hired to oversee two independent investigations hope to ensure nothing like the collapse ever takes place on Indiana soil again.

Lt. Gov. (R) Becky Skillman says, “You turn on national news and there's still disbelief that that is us. You have such highly talented professionals associated with our State Fair, and they are personally devastated that this would occur on their watch."

Skillman says individuals and families should indeed be compensated for injuries or medical expenses incurred because of the stage tragedy.

Skillman was in Warsaw Tuesday visiting a business that’s been thriving in the downtown area.
