FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – A local non-profit focusing on marijuana legislation met for the first time in Allen County Saturday.

The Northeast Indiana Chapter of "NORML" or National Organization for the reform of marijuana laws, was established back in late April.

They held their first public meeting at the Allen County Public Library Saturday afternoon.

The organization says it's an opportunity to change the views of people in the community and around the world.

The group's mission statement is to move public opinion to legalize the responsible use of marijuana by adults, and to serve as an advocate for consumers to assure they have access to quality marijuana that is safe, convenient and affordable.
