FORT WAYNE, Ind (21Alive) -- Winning a major lottery prize may seem like a once-in-a-lifetime moment. However, Fort Wayne man Roger Douglas recently cashed in a $1 million prize to the Hoosier Lottery. It's his third win in 12 years.
This past Thursday Douglas arrived at the Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis to claim a $1 million winning scratch off ticket. Officials from the Hoosier Lottery noted this wasn't the first time they've seen Douglas.
In November 2001 Douglas won $250,000 on another scratch off game from the Hoosier Lottery. Then in 2006 he won again, this time $25,000 on a holiday raffle game. This win was 7 years ago to the date of his most recent win.
"The odds are so against winning in the first place, I never thought it would happen again," said Roger Douglas. "I thought $250,000 win was once-in-a-lifetime. I feel well-blessed."
Although he is technically retired, Douglas said he and his wife don't plan to slow down their work schedules, as for the money, Douglas says they plan to save most of it.
