INDIANA/ ILLINOIS (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Indiana House Democrats continue to be holed up in an Illinois hotel bringing work at the Statehouse to a standstill.
Fort Wayne's two Democratic Representatives Phil Giaquinta and Win Moses are among those who've been staying in Urbana, denying Republicans the quorum they need to conduct business.
Republicans have killed a controversial Right to Work bill that is at the heart of Democrat and Union protests.
Representative Win Moses says Democrats left the state, fearing if they stayed, Governor Daniels would compel them to come back to work.
Moses says, "We were afraid given his deep involvement with the Wisconsin situation that we should take further action, but it was with a heavy heart that you decide to do that and Tuesday we said we really don't have any chance to get a time-out unless we do this."
Democrats want other labor and education bills taken off the table as well, before committing to return to the Statehouse.
