Local Body Shops Are Busy Repairing Vehicles

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Parking lots at car repair shops are full and as things start to warm you might think you're off the hook when it comes to keeping tabs on your car.

Not so fast says the owner of one local body shop who wants to remind drivers that salt can literally eat your car. So if you get a chance, go get your car washed.

And if you don't want to be stuck at a body shop for a few days waiting on repairs learn a little preventive maintenance.

Owner of Auto Collision Service Dwight Jewett says, “What you really need to do is walk around your car and check your tires. Look at not just what the car says on your dash, but open up your hood. Learn to check your oil. Learn just to do the little bit of preventative maintenance and it goes a long way.”

As we get warmer, potholes are springing up.

Jewett says to pay close attention because they can throw off your alignment and steering and damage tires and wheels.
