FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- Folks with the Live Strong foundation created by cyclist, Lance Armstrong hosted their first fundraiser in Fort Wayne Friday night.

Dozens attended the Hero Among Us benefit, fashion show, and silent auction. Proceeds will help cancer survivors locally and around the world.

Fort Wayne native, Jon Colbert hosted the event.

“Live Strong came into my life when I ended up getting prostate cancer and they had to take out my prostate,” says Colbert. “And my brother gave me this yellow Live Strong bracelet and ever since that day that's how I chose to live my life to live strong and never quit the fight.”

John has stage four, incurable cancer but wants to fight for others.
