FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Friday is the last day on the job for the 217-janitors at Fort Wayne Community Schools.
Last month, the district approved a contract with a private custodial company called Sodexo to handle the duties in its buildings.
Many of the school employees plan to part ways with the district instead of trying to keep their jobs, but with lower wages, through Sodexo.
