Lance Armstrong Stepping Down As Chairman of Livestrong

October 17, 2012 Updated Nov 12, 2013 at 10:46 PM EST

UNDATED (www.incnow.tv) - Lance Armstrong is no longer chairman of Livestrong cancer charity.

Armstrong decided to step down so the charity can focus on its mission and not his publicized doping scandal. Vice chairman Jeff Garvey, who was the founding chairman in 1997, will resume the position.

Just a week ago the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released a detailed report on doping allegations by Lance and his team during the Tour de France.

Since 2004, 84 million Livestrong wristbands have been distributed.
