FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Thursday marks the grand opening of a new independent senior housing community in Fort Wayne.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opened the Lamplight Inn of Fort Wayne. A 170+ unit independent senior housing community offering personalized care and services for residents.

Located on east Washington Boulevard, the Lamplight is close to many attractions and places of interest.

Officials are also in talks to bring a pharmacy, convenience store and bagel shop to the area.

Lamplight Inn Executive Director Suzie Ebbing says, “We have a lot of opportunities to bring other people in to our community to help our residents and bring some things to downtown Fort Wayne that aren't there anymore. We're all about community and we're all about affordable senior care and I think being downtown, we'll be able to help a lot of people.”

Officials with Lamplight Inn say all of their communities offer senior residents lifestyle choices that encourage independence and individuality.
