HUNTINGTON, Ind. (21Alive) -- The ring of a phone, means dollars in the door but a lack of cell service is doing damage to one Huntington business.

Jimmy Pops Pizza is a delivery and pick-up only pizzeria, which means they rely heavily on customers calling in their orders. Over the past week Verizon cell service has been in and out in the Huntington area.

The owner says most only use cell phones, so the lack of service over the past week has cost him $3,000.

"Well my business relies on phones, because we're not a dine in," owner Clifford Coon said. "We rely on people calling us, ordering food. And for us it's a huge inconvenience and any other establishment that requires people to call in and order food."

Coon says the service has been better today (Tuesday) but Verizon wouldn't give him a timeline on when service would be back to normal.

21Alive's calls to Verizon went unanswered.
