LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter)- A man was arrested today at a meth lab for outstanding warrants including escape and pseudoephedrine violation.
Around 1:15 a.m., Trooper Brian Kreger, along with officers from the Ashley Police and Hudson Police Departments responded to a report of shots fired in the 6800 east block of County Road 800 South, just outside of Wolcottville.
The investigation led Kreger to a residence in the area where a strong odor of ether was present. Jarrod D. Haines, 25 of Wolcottville allegedly saw officers and ran to a back bedroom where he discarded items commonly associated with the production of methamphetamine out of the bedroom window.
Kreger identified Haines and learned that he had two outstanding arrest warrants, one out of LaGrange County for escape and the other out of DeKalb County for a pseudoephedrine violation.
Haines was immediately taken into custody without incident and incarcerated in the LaGrange County Jail. A search warrant was obtained and a search of the residence turned up more items commonly associated with the production of methamphetamine.
Kreger’s case will be turned over to the LaGrange County Prosecutor for review for potential charges. The LaGrange and Noble County Sheriff Departments also assisted in the investigation.
