FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – People from the community were able to use their voices to battle cancer. “Karaoke for a Cure” was held Saturday night at the Yolo Event Center.
The function was held to raise money for LLS, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The money donated goes toward family services for two local children with leukemia, both of whom have to make numerous trips to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
Organizers say meeting the kids was all the encouragement they needed to get involved.
“There's not enough time that I can give to it. I have to give as much time as I possibly can to it even with all the other things I'm doing in my life, this is the most important thing right now, is to help these children,” said Tom Didier, organizer and 3rd District City Councilman.
Didier says the fundraiser will go on through May 30, where they will have a giant gala and auction.
If you’d like to donate to LLS, text the word "Didier" to 90210.
