FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Bryon Health hosted a ‘Wizard of Oz’ inspired event members of the Boys and Girls Club.

On Saturday afternoon, Byron Health Center partnered with the Three Rivers Art Center for Kids (TRACK).

Together, over 40 members of the Boys and Girls Club as well as the children and grandchildren of staff members "followed the yellow brick road" to find school supplies.

Organizers say when it comes to donations, it was a team effort.

“We did an outreach program with TRACK and Boys and Girls Club to bring the kids out that might need it during the school season and start them off with backpacks. A lot of donations came from the community and our residents had a fun drive to help with purchase the back packs too,” said Liz Johnson, Director of Life Enrichment for Byron Health Center.

Boys and Girls Club employees also pitched in to donate school supplies.
