KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - City council members in Kendallville will be discussing a proposed ordinance Tuesday night to ban the synthetic drug K2

If passed, anyone caught selling K2 would be fined $2,500, and people caught buying or using it would be fined up to $1,000.

Retailers sell K2 as incense, but most users smoke it to get a marijuana-like high.

The key ingredient in the drug has already been banned in five states.

City council members in Fort Wayne will discuss a similar ordinance later in the week.
